Welcome to my website : David George, Portrait and Landscape Painter.

The pleasure that I have received from studying the work of many great artists over the years has inspired me to try and follow, in some small way,
in their footsteps by becoming an artist myself.

Painting and drawing continue to enthrall , perplex and challenge me ; each new work brings with it the struggle between the ‘agony and the ecstasy’ with which all artists are familiar. However, in the end, the elation of
creating ‘something from nothing’ means that the pleasures far outweigh the pain.

When painting portrait commissions, it is always enjoyable to meet new people and to try and capture something of their looks and personality on canvas or paper.
